Lose yourself on Lokrum Island

Jump on one of the taxi boats to the unspoiled island of Lokrum. Full of lush pines, fig trees and subtropical flora, Lokrum Island is a gorgeous oasis to escape to. A cool salt-breeze floats in from the Adriatic, and there’s plenty of space to spread out your towel on its rocky beaches.

Centrepieced by a ruined Napoleonic fort and botanical gardens (still filled with exotic plants and peacocks) set up by fated Habsburg royal Maximilian.This forested island is big enough to accommodate the masses, even in high season. Taxi boats leave every 30 minutes and the journey time is 15 minutes, 9am - 9pm daily.
